Lovely readers. I am back from the loveliest and my new favorite city, Berlin!
I was there for a program related to my work and loved every second of it. My eyes teared a little when the plane landed in Kuwait. I was in denial. I did not want to leave!
The streets, the museums, the parks, the canals, the lakes, the shops, the bakeries and Oh My! Oh My! the best and most perfect bread I have ever had in my entire life! I overdosed on every kind of bread with every meal!
And now let me show you a couple of pictures from the streets of Berlin
And now to the museums…
Since I was part of an official delegation, we didn’t really get to experience fine dining, except for the one time at the German Foreign Office (Foreign Ministry) where we were invited to the restaurant of the foreign ministry itself! I tried for the first time venison and I quite liked it! And finished off our meal with an excellent creme brulee topped with fresh, plumb berries.
Up until the last few days in Berlin, I had yet to try German food so my sister and I asked the concierge for an authentic German “rustic” restaurant. We were recommended to the one below, Leibniz-Klause. We arrived and it was packed and filled with the elderly! So it had to be good. We were sadly turned away as there were no tables available.
We walked around that beautiful street tired and hungry and saw this!
It had a lovely atmosphere and the Chef himself came to serve our main dishes! And the food was even lovelier!
And then of course we had to have an apple strudel! And it was yummy!
And this my lovely readers, concludes my Berlin post.
I want to go back….
